Company Reporting was founded by Dr David Tonkin in 1989 as an independent business information research and publishing house. Ever since, CR has been influential in monitoring and consequently improving the quality and disclosure of information provided by companies to shareholders and other interested parties. Having recently undergone a merger with TrueandFair.com, Company Reporting has transformed into a fast-growing online publishing company aiding the development of IFRS standards globally.

Dr David Tonkin, Chairman

Dr David Tonkin, the Chairman of Company Reporting Ltd, is a PwC qualified accountant and has served as secretariat of the Accounting Standards Committee having worked directly on the preparation of a number of accounting standards. For 15 years, he was joint editor of the annual "Survey of published accounts" for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has also chaired commercial conferences on financial reporting and has been an expert witness on accountancy matters in the High Court. He has served as a special advisor and editor to a number of bodies including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, European Accounting Association Federation des Experts Comptables Europeens, Brussels. David sits on the company board and provides strategic leadership to the organisation. 

Omkar Joshi, CEO

Omkar Joshi, the CEO of Company Reporting Ltd, joined the company following the merger between Company Reporting and TrueandFair.com in 2009. Omkar is a KPMG-trained qualified accountant and an MBA from London Business School. Omkar has spent over 8 years working with Thomson Reuters, one of the largest publishers of tax and accounting information in the US. Omkar brings years of technical accounting expertise gained through previous senior management positions and as an independent consultant assisting companies such as Reuters, BBC, Chrysalis and CBS with their financial reporting, particularly IFRS implementations. Omkar is responsible for the overall performance of the business and sits on the CR board.

Ben MacGregor, Director Sales & Marketing

Ben MacGregor, Director of Sales & Marketing for Company Reporting, has been with the company for six years, during which time he has overseen the transformation of CR from a hard copy to an online service.  Having graduated with an Economics degree from the University of Sussex Ben has worked in sales and marketing positions across the world, including a 5 year stint in Australia, working with a number of firms such as Combined Insurance.  Bringing years of sales experience to the role, Ben has overall strategic responsibility for sales and marketing, and sits on the board.

Analysts

The Company Reporting Editorial team is made up of over 15 Analysts covering financial statements of over 2,000 public companies. Our analysts, several of whom are qualified accountants or MBAs, have tens of years of experience analysing financial statements of companies. Most of our analysts are based at our office in Edinburgh however a small number is also based in India as a part of the growing team involved with covering other major geographies where IFRS is being adopted.
