At Company Reporting we are always interested in hearing from people who want to join us.
We have separate teams which focus on different aspects of our work, but the underlying skills are an ability to process and analyse companies' Annual Reports and Accounts.
The scope
of our work includes:
- Review of Corporate Reporting Practice: We analyse and report on European listed companies for developments in financial reporting practice. Strong analytical, writing and communication skills are essential; and in this team an ability to write brief reports in good English is important.
- Bespoke Databases &
Scoreboards: A significant proportion of our work is for Government and Regulatory
bodies. We construct and compile annual scoreboards for the European Commission
and UK Government and large corporates; the most prominent are the R&D
and Value Added Scoreboards. This work is globally oriented so a second language,
or a non-English first language, is a distinct advantage.
All
our technical staff are able to critically evaluate companies' annual reports
& accounts; and if you want to join us you would normally be expected:
(i) to be an accountancy graduate or a professionally qualified accountant;
and (ii) to be prepared to join us as a junior. That said, if you believe
you have something to offer that does not meet these criteria you can still
get in touch - but remember to explain the background to your interest in
financial reporting.
We occupy
a niche market and our work is very different from that usually carried out
by accounting professionals; consequently our staff all join at a junior
level and receive on-the-job training. If you are looking to train for an
accounting qualification, don't think of joining us. If you are looking for
an unusual and interesting angle on companies' accounts, then we might just
have the job for you.
